通过生物计算方法，研究绵羊种质资源的评价与利用、重要经济性状的遗传机理解析及全基因组选择育种。

主要包括：a) 研究不同绵羊品种驯化进程，阐释绵羊遗传及表型多样性形成的机制; b) 通过整合多组学数据，鉴定（精细定位）与绵羊重要经济性状相关的分子标记并解析其影响表型的机理；c）利用已有或开发新方法整合生物学先验信息，提高绵羊全基因组选择的准确性。
