Education

Nanjing University, Nanjing, China, Ph. D. in Analytical Chemistry, 2014-2018.

Hunan University, Changsha, China, M. S. in Analytical Chemistry, 2011-2014.

Hunan University, Changsha, China, B. S. in Chemistry, 2007-2011.

Professional Activities

(1) Professor of Chemistry, Yangzhou University, July 2021 to present.

(2) Associate Research Fellow, Nanjing University, October 2018 to June 2021.

The main research passion and strength focus on electrochemiluminescence microscopy and spectra at the single-nanoparticle and single-cell level. Research in Cheng Ma’s lab has been bridging and interfacing macroscopic electrochemiluminescence and microscopy analysis to discover novel luminescence phenomenon from single entities such as single nanocatalysts and single cells. It is funny to transduce a non-visible chemical information to a visible optical or electronic signal, which helps to uncover the mystical natural principles. The homemade microscopy and spectral instrument promote the relevant studies on electrocatalysis and subcellular analysis. Some interesting works have been published in academic journals such as Angew. Chem., Nano Lett., Chem. Sci., Anal. Chem., Chem. Commun. He is responsible for the Youth Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Youth Project of Science and Technology Plan of Jiangsu Province. His main research passions include:

(1) Single-cell level analysis by optical and electronic microscopy

(2) Single nanoparticle catalysis monitored by microscopy

(3) luminescence materials for analytical measurements and novel analytical instruments.
